Transferring Mitalis.com off GoDaddy

For the 10 or so people (lol) that actually visit my website, there may be some downtime as I'm transferring my domain from GoDaddy to NameCheap.com.  GoDaddy are SOPA supporters and played a major part in helping draft up the bill.  Because of this there has been a boycott against GoDaddy for supporting this draconian piece of legislation.

December 29th has been declared 'dump GoDaddy' day and I'll gladly be one of tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people that are also taking their business elsewhere.

I refuse to support any company that thinks SOPA (in its current form) is an acceptable way to combat piracy.

I urge any of you that own any domains to transfer them as soon as possible..

Finally a Victory for Consumers

I've been quiet about AT&T since they announced their plans to buyout T-Mobile.  This is mainly due to the fact that I'm tired of having to repeat myself over regarding my hatred towards AT&T.  In case you're a new reader, I fucking HATE AT&T.... Now that that's out of the way...

I'm really surprised of the final outcome, AT&T withdrew their request to the FCC about the buyout after the Department of Justice (DoJ) determined that the buyout was not in the interest of the consumer or the employees of T-mobile.  In addition, it doesn't take a genius to realize if the merger were to go through, their rates would go up.

AT&T had until sometime January 2012 to make a decision if they were going to move forward in court with the DoJ in being able to proceed with the acquisition.  The irony is, internal documentation AT&T had come up with if the plans went through were publicly leaked which basically stated the opposite of their claims.

It was clear that AT&T didn't have any proof that the merger would be in everybody's interest.and that's why rather than proceed with the fight they decided to back out..

So what does this mean now?  Bascially T-Mobile is going to get a HUGE chunk of cash from AT&T (as it was either some sort of law or agreement both companies had), in addition T-Mobile will also get some Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum in 128 markets, this would increase their coverage to about 5 million new households, plus the roaming agreement that T-Mobile has with AT&T will be extended another 7 years.

I'm happy of this outcome and it just proves that at least one person that works for the Government has some common sense.

World of Warcraft has lost its appeal

Blizzard Entertainment announced this year at their Blizzcon event their new expansion coming to World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria...

.....What?  Pandaria? Like April Fools Day joke Blizzard did a few years ago?

This has to be a joke right?  When news first broke out I thought it was Blizzard intentionally trolling the gaming community.

No, they were serious.

Granted I quit WoW quite some time ago, their new expansions always gave me some incentive to come back.  Not this time...

Expanding on the lore of the Worgen and Goblins with the Cataclysm expansion was a great idea as both races were already in the game and the community could easily accept them.  People were skeptical when Blizzard release the Dranei because their origins coming from space didn't make any sense to the lore.  Blood Elves were accepted because they've always had a role in the Warcraft lore (despite them being incredibly over-feminine).  But Pandas?!

I just can't accept Pandas.  The first thing that comes to mind is Kung Fu Panda.. Granted the movie was funny, I couldn't take it seriously.  And I certainly had no interest playing as them.

Kung Fu Panda
If anything, it's my guess that Blizzard wanted to change the mood of the game as the last 3 expansions have been dark.  However, officially putting in a race that originally wasn't meant to be taken seriously was a pretty stupid move on your part Blizzard.

CA Gov Jerry Brown signs "Dream Act"

I'm at a loss of words right now... Actually the word 'disgusted' might be more appropriate.

I don't normally like to get into political discussions, but I can't help but comment on what happened today...

First of all.. I don't consider myself a democrat, or a republican.  Both parties are complete pieces of shit as far as I'm concerned... The democratic party is the very reason why California is in a financial crisis to begin with.

These democratic legislators that run our state have bascially run it to the ground.  California is the worst state to do business in.  We rank dead last when it comes to incentives running a business here.

Still don't believe me? Fucking Google it.

This state literally has a fucking tax for EVERYTHING. Businesses get hurt the most out of it, which is why small businesses are closing up shop and moving elsewhere.  Why would any rational person want to run a business here if you can't make money?  It's a waste of time.

With the number of businesses decreasing, this also leaves less jobs for CA residents and ultimately, less money for the state to spend.  But that didn't matter because the state already spent more then what it earned from taxes.  The legislation that runs this country clearly doesn't know how to do basic math.

So what is the Dream Act?  It was a bill proposed by "One Bill" Gil Cedillo that basically allows illegal immigrants to apply for in-state tuition for college.. You know, the money legal CA residents pay out of their pockets?  Yeah our tax dollars now will start funding illegal immigrants starting January 2013.

I'm pissed off because this bullshit encourages illegal immigration.. These are people whom drive our streets uninsured and without driver licenses, whom don't pay taxes (because they can't be legally hired) and we as a society have to accept this shit give special treatment to these illegals.  Why even bother having a process of becoming a legal U.S. citizen? This law basically spits in the face tax paying citizen and every immigrant whom has gone through the legal process.

Fuck you Jerry Brown, and fuck you Gil Cedillo. I hope both of you fucking rot in hell and die a slow pain death. You're fucking disgraces and betrayers to the American people.

It's no wonder why this state is in the toilet... We have dipshits like these people running the state... Seriously I think it's time a revolution and recall of every representative legislator/congress member and have the rug pulled from under them.  This state continues to dig itself into a deeper hole and now it's so deep you can't even see the light when looking up that's how far down it is.

Steve Jobs dead at age 57

Wow, it's been quite some time since I last updated anything on my blog... I'm by no means an Apple fanboy.  Heck, the last posting on my blog was over a year ago when I was talking about a possible iPhone 4 recall..

I was aware of Steve Jobs having health issues which forced him to step down as CEO about a month ago, but I had no idea that he was going downhill that quickly.

I will say this, Steve Jobs was an innovator and knew how to to market his products. If it weren't for the iPhone & iPad, Android wouldn't be where it is today with their phones and tablets.

Thank you Steve for creating these devices, your innovation & creativity has brought a better quality of live for everybody.

Rest in Peace.
