Have the old PS3 model? Sony advises not turning it on until they sayotherwise

Apparently there is some sort of outage on Sony's Playstation Network.  The issue started late last night as people were being kicked offline with an error code: 8001050F

If you have one of the 'fatter' versions of the PS3, Sony is advising you to keep your console off until they can fix this problem.  There is some sort of time & date issue where by turning it on you risk losing your stored trophy data among corrupting your save data.    That's  pretty severe...

Not only could you risk losing your saved data, but anything that may be subscription based... If you rent movies from the Playstation Network, the console will assume the date is wrong and prevent playback of that rented movie.

I myself own a 60GB Playstation 3 that has support in playing PS1 & PS2 games..   I recently started playing Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and was looking forward to continue playing it after work.. But looks like that won't be the case...

*sigh*

Why you should boycott Assassin's Creed II on the PC

When it comes to DRM you should know by now what my stance on it is.  If you don't, you can read my prior posts here:

Ubisoft had come up with a new "anti-piracy plan."  Their solution for DRM is making sure that you have a constant connection to the internet.  Meaning the second you lose your connection for whatever reason, be it you tripping over an ethernet cord, low wireless signal, or hell even Ubisoft's DRM servers going on the fritz, your game ends, you lose any and all unsaved progress until your internet is up and running again.

Ubisoft plans in incorporating this type of DRM into the Assassin's Creed II game when it comes out on PC.  All I can say is I certainly won't be buying the game.  Nothing pisses me off more then when companies tell you what you can or can't do with their products... Even after the fact that you OWN it.

What's funny will be the hundreds of thousands of people whom download the game illegally who will be laughing at Ubisoft for attempting to protect themselves in such a dumb way.

Oh well, they'll learn their lessons eventually.

Praying Mantis attacking mouse pointer

Now this is something you don't see everyday.  A Praying Mantis tries to attack a mouse pointer... It's kinda like watching a cat play with yarn.

If we ever had a zombie outbreak, I'd hire this guy to keep me safe

All I can say is if this video isn't fake, then WOW!  This guy is like an aimbot...  He never misses.

Conan O'Brien made from Cheetos

Some guy with a little too much time on his hands creates a portrait of Conan O'Brien made entirely from Cheetos.  The artist certainly has talent.
