I’m not really big on watching TV but lately the media has been making a huge deal about “The Tonight Show” as Conan O’Brien is getting screwed over because Jay Leno’s show now sucks. So the geniuses over at NBC decided to give Jay Leno back his old show back and having Conan start after midnight. Conan said having his show start at 12:05AM isn’t ‘The Tonight Show’ but ‘The Tomorrow’ show and refused NBC’s offer.
Literally every website covering the story has sided with Conan O’Brien, including other popular talk show hosts: David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, John Stewart, and Steven Colbert.
Leno had Jimmy Fallon on his show on January 14th and Jimmy didn’t hold back. This is painful to watch folks:

Yeah, wow. Man, he really gave it to him. That takes some serious cojones. You’re not kidding when you say that it’s hard to watch. In any case, go Jimmy!
NBCs ratings are down in many cases – thank god for Law and Order and The Office – and when you put a crappy lead-in like Jay’s show at 10PM, which is tanking all on its own, and of course ratings will be down for the Tonight Show. Let Conan have a shot at the Tonight Show with some good 10PM programming and watch the ratings rise.
Plus, Conan was beating Letterman for a long time and he has never fallen behind anyone else (like Kimmel for example) to my knowledge. Give Conan the time he needs to strengthen his core audience – have some faith! We love COCO!!!
I want to give Leno some credit, but I can’t help thinking that none of this would be happening if he would just say, “No, I won’t take the Tonight Show back.”
Talk about bad manners. I don’t understand all this support Kimmel is getting for being invited to appear on a colleague’s show and using the opportunity to humiliate him in front of his viewers. I teach, and for me it’s as if I asked a colleague to observe my class and have him insult me without warning in front of my students.
